Bill: Cildanian Restoration

Details

Submitted by[?]: Maritime Nationalists

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2926

Description[?]:

While not the Cildania that we would one day like to see, we cannot allow the false-fascist madness to further wreak our once Great Nation. We Propose a full Restoration of the Cildanian Republic and the Cildanian Constitutional government, the true Anthem of Hail Motherland and the neutrality first guarantee of the vacant executive office.
Cildania must first be a working nation before it can reformed into the Maritime State. Without strong foundations nothing can be built and at the moment we only have wet sand to work with. We call upon all the Parties of Cildania to support this Restoration following the next election.
The Senate was in Cildania City, the Government House in Velieres is the DCR Parliament. The Cantons each have their own Prime Minister so the use of the traditional title of Chancellor avoids confusion and superfluous prefixes.
Amendments in order to gain majority support are of course welcome.

MessageI agree with you. It won't hurt anyone to change the position names, a nice resistance from the too-powerful (too-powerful meaning they have more than 0 seats).

MessageI will support this bill on condition Article 2 is reconsidered. The title vacant office of the President is a little underwhelming for our country's leader, no matter if a figurehead or not.

We should retain the title President or replace it with something more suitable for a nation of our stature.

MessageWhen it was in the debate phase was the time to bring that up. As its too late to do anything now.
If you read ahead there is no nations leader, see Article 4. The Chair is left empty.
Only the executive office can declare war under the first constitution, there for it was decieded some four hundred years ago that in the interests of Cildanian Neutrality and Cildanian Democracy also the office would be left vacant, though either the manner presented in Article 4 or though the direct election of the Chancellor as per the consolidated law choice.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
