REVISED ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEVEL SYSTEM ACT OF 2927 This bill shall replace the ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEVEL SYSTEM ACT OF 2694, in response to changes in the national law regarding the age limit for compulsory education. I. ELEMENTARY EDUCATION 1.) Elementary education shall consist of the following grade levels, with their suggested age of enrollment: --- a. Grade I (6-7 years old) --- b. Grade II (7-8 years old) --- c. Grade III (8-9 years old) --- d. Grade IV (9-10 years old) --- e. Grade V (10-11 years old) --- f. Grade VI (11-12 years old) 2.) A student may be accelerated to a grade level at a younger age after accomplishing a series of tests that shall prove his capability to take on a higher level. The series of tests shall be administered by a licensed psychometrician connected or independent from the school, a staff member of the school, and a representative from the provincial Ministry of Education. 3.) A student may be retained to a grade level if he or she has show below average grades and does not show enough competence to be promoted to the next grade level. 4.) A student must accomplish the six years of elementary education in order to proceed to secondary education, except if the student has been proven to be capable of being accelerated to a grade or year level at a younger age. II. LOWER SECONDARY EDUCATION 1.) Lower secondary education shall consist of the following grade levels, with their suggested age of enrollment: --- a. Grade VII (12-13 years old) --- b. Grade VIII (13-14 years old) --- c. Grade IX (14-15 years old) 2.) A student may be accelerated to a grade level at a younger age after accomplishing a series of tests that shall prove his capability to take on a higher level. The series of tests shall be administered by a licensed psychometrician connected or independent from the school, a staff member of the school, and a representative from the provincial Ministry of Education. 3.) Message | I agree with this. I liked the old system but this one is better due to it adding more of an education. |
