Bill: Parochial Education Freedom Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3082

Description[?]:

In order to provide for a more open parochial education system, all private Talmorian schools that are affiliated with any religious organization should not be required to directly follow government regulation. Instead, the Talmorian government should loosely outline the cirriculum for all given levels and then the individual institutions create a cirriculum that fits their needs. Also, the Talmorian government should set standards for various age groups and use Standardized Testing to measure each schools performance. If any given school does not meet the standards, then government intervention is necessary.

MessageThe People\'s Party is strongly against this bill. Private, religius schools should be able to educate thier students in accordance with their faith, but there must be regulations in place to ensure that those students are getting an adequate education that will make valuable commodities in the workforce. Talmorian\'s future cannnot depend on a large swath of students who received a sub-par education. Talmoria sets a high bar for education, and that should not be jeopardized by loosening education standards.
