Bill: Tariffs On All Imports Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Labour Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3094

Description[?]:

As stated before in the "Alorian Industry Protection Act" we need protectionism to ensure that our goods, our services are put first by the consumer and by the government. Without tariffs, the basket cases of Terra will be allowed to let their goods come into Alorian shops, as they are cheaper they will be bough ahead of locally made thus costing jobs in Aloria. We need protectionism to protect the economy, jobs and return a sense of Alorian patriotism by buying locally made.

OOC: Similar to my other rant, half a century ago we used to make everything in the UK and thats how our nation got moving after WW2 and at that time we had tariffs. Later on, the governments started changing the laws to tariffs Labour and Conservative are both equally guilty, our jobs and industries left as everyone went for the cheaper products from India or China and now from all that plus other factors we're in a deep recession! Britain used to be completely self reliant for everything but now we don't make anything anymore!
