Bill: Tax Relief Act of 3094
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Democratic Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3095
Description[?]:
After checking the budget recently, it became apparent of a rather large surplus. We find no need to unnecessarily tax the people when the tax rates could be lowered. We believe everyone can agree to lower taxes on essential goods. We chose to lower it to 1% instead of 0% to still keep some revenue coming in from that sector. As for the corporate tax, we know some parties will have issues with that. By lowering the high tax on corporations, we hope to urge more business growth. Hopefully in the future the corporate tax and the tax on luxury goods will be lowered, but will have to wait and see how the economy fairs after a new set of taxes. |

Message | We have restructured the bill after some more thought. We kept the corporate tax rate at the same proposed level. We added a 5% reduction to taxes on both essential and luxury goods, as we believe this to be a better balance. This Bill serves as a good alternative to the one proposed by the Labour party, in which taxes were being raised on corporations, despite a surplus existing currently. |

Message | We agree with the Labour Party. The profits of companies result from the exploitation of it's workers, and as such, they should be highly taxed, so that the money can be used to serve everyone. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
