Voting deadline: February 3100

Description[?]:

.“Many parties will immediately look at this bill and dismiss it at once however we want to break it down for you. Child Labour is not being employed in fields this bill will put the same regulations as adult but even more, the following regulations are attached to this bill. We will keep this bill in debate as we work it through Parliament for any additional regulations parties may want to add on.”
Regulations on CHILD LABOUR
1.) No child may do any work involving hazardous material, or use any machinery equipment that may cause injury to them
2.) Children may work in the entrainment industry as extras, models, singers, actors, etc.
3.) All children must attend regular school or be homed school, if a child is not getting an education from proper home school lessons or at private or public schooling, they may not work.
4.) Parents/ Guardians must approve the work permit.
5.) Childrien may only work up to 3 hours a day
6.) They are given same holidays as adults.
7.) May only work in resturants, super markets, paper rounds etc
8.) Childrien are able to be represented by trade unions
9.) Will create the Child Labour Regulation Division in the Department of Trade and Industry to enforce regulations and impose fines to businsses that break regulations of Child Labour
(OOC: I am wondering since the game isn’t clear does Child refer to Teen as well because it’s only Child and Adult. If so we need to have this pass and change regulations because teens need to work)

MessageOOC: First of all, I see you have spelled labour the proper way, how it is internationally recognised and supposed to be spelled, very good! Anyway, i always thought that child labour was what you see in places like Nigeria where children are tied to a loom to weave cloth. Whenever I hear of child labour I assume of children under 12 slaving away in the third world for minimum pay. In the UK you have to be 13 to legally start working but you still need to go to school, I got my first job at 13 as a paper round, pretty good pay about £70 a month, but no I am 18 turning 19 in 12 days, that is all different with university and my part time job at the Labour Party things have changed from those days. However when I was a paper round, I didn't see it as child labour it was really more adolescent labour, there is a fine line here.

IC: I hope they too shall be represented by the trade unions. Also you need to place restrictions such as proper holidays to that of adult workers, shorter working hours to that of adults and they cannot do the same job as adults do i.e construction, farming, textiles etc. only say working in a restaurant, supermarket or as a paper round. I hope the People's Party will add these regulations in to ensure that we are having adolescent labour not child labour.

MessageHold on I wasn't meaning just super markers. restaurants, paper round you should put an "etc" there just to clarify that, also up to 3 hours a day, a day not week. You also didn't put in that they should be represented by trades union as well.

MessageWe disagree with this. This will inevitably lead to child exploitation. Poor families will make their children work, and poor families will ask the employer for the children to work a little more.
Even if the regulations are followed, 3 hours of work per day will rob them time from their studies. If a kid gets out of school at 3, and works until it's 6, he'll get less time to study, and even if he studies he won't do it well because he's tired.

So no, this is a dangerous beggining, we won't support it.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
