Description[?]:

The People's Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Democratic Republic of Aloria.

Bill Owens speaking before Parliament about his proposed budget.

“The public does not like my budget and you know what I don’t like it either. Cutting welfare benefits, education, defense, justice, transportation, everything else I’ve cut I don’t want to cut but we have no choice in the matter. Parliament refuses to use small tax hikes on the middle class, their solution higher taxes on the richer and deeper cuts. Well here we go, I’ve given higher taxes on the rich, which doesn’t help except maybe 12 billion at the most. I’ve made a budget that contains deep cuts, cutting more then 100 billion from the budget. Parliament has to accept this budget because if they don’t what are we going to? Let us start a huge deficit that will harm our economy, borrow money from other nations? Send IOU’s to all employees about their pay.

I propose this to Parliament, I am ready to play hard ball and make the tough choices, but are you the elected members pose to be public servants for the people ready to make those choices? If you are then vote yes on this budget understand tax hikes only on the rich won’t help, small increases on the middle class must happen. The more I cut, the less our government does. Services will be cut in departments across the nation. Foreign Affairs can’t spend as much money for aid to other nations; our federal law enforcement agencies will have cut back on agents and lays them off. Layoffs are going to be coming to federal employees, these departments have no choice.

Maybe we can take pay cuts to save people jobs, but will the unions agree to pay cuts to save jobs? I’ve seen them reject plans, for that. As President I am pose to be the leader of this nation, and I have done that. I have proposed budgets and taxation bills, Parliament needs to accept them and do their job now. If not then I want real suggestions not these phony fantasy suggestions that won’t work.

More cuts, means less services and more layoffs. If you have not found that out, then I assure you the people are going to make their anger known to us all. I hope the members of Parliament are ready for the choices they are going to make, the wrath of the people can be very much bad.”

MessageHold on a second, you made no cuts to environment and tourism, that is unfair, everything should get a cut no matter how much or how little it is funded.

MessageEnvironment and Tourism only has a billion left. I am not going to put anything past a billion because the entire department would just fall apart. If it had more then a billion it would have been cut I asure you. But the minuim for that department is a billion in funding.

Any lower and this could have a negative effect on the econonmy as the department is pose to fund the recyceling plants, tourism sites, etc.

MessageYou can cut more there is no set minimum, it seems grossly unfair that everything else gets cut except for that. Even just a small cut I'll be happy with.

MessageThe Minister for that department has told me that cutting it would be destorying the department. I will not cut something and risk the department not able to carry out its duties.

MessageNo it will not, it will only be destroyed if funding goes to zero.

MessageAlso, like I said if the department had more then a billion I would have cut it. That department is always the first one every one proposes to cut and not invest in. That is like if Defense was down to a billion and we said cut it( even tho it would never be down their because that would ruin national secuirty)

MessageIt would be basically destorying it, not all the way, but the department would not be able to carry out all it's duties, if we cut more funding.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically

Random quote: "[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation...[where] the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." - James Madison
