Description[?]:
The Genuine Progress Alliance propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Democratic Republic of Aloria. The arguments for our proposal are as follows: (1) The luxury tax reduction from 42 percent to 15 percent has caused a drop in government revenue. Though we believe it was right to decrease the luxury tax rate, we also acknowledge its effects in our revenue and will be open to a slight increase later on. (2) With that in mind, we believe that we should be focusing first on reforming the income tax system to make it more reasonable to the Alorian people. We understand that the first proposal (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=320997) will not be able to address the current needs of the government and thus we are led to create a new proposal. (3) With this new proposal, we are assured that we can get approximately the same level of revenue that we are currently acquiring from the current income tax structure while making it fairer to the Alorian people. This is done by dividing the Alorian income earners into the following brackets: *(a) Class E - Below Basic Income Earners Those who earn less than 1000 ALO will have a zero income tax rate (0%). *(b) Class D - Basic Income Earners Those who earn 1000 ALO to 5000 ALO will have a 10% income tax rate. *(c) Class C - Middle Income Earners Those who earn more than 5000 ALO but less than or equal to 15,000 ALO will have a 20% income tax rate. *(d) Class B - High Income Earners Those who earn more than 15,000 ALO but less than or equal to 25,000 ALO will have a 30% income tax rate. *(e) Class A - Top Income Earners Those who earn more than 25,000 ALO will have a 35% income tax rate. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
