MessageActually our newspaper is called the Democratic Republic of Aloria Daily. Plus why would we have a Spanish/Portuguese sounding name in the first place? Also Broadcasting means television and radio not newspaper. Like the BBC-British Broadcasting Corporation or SABC- South African Broadcasting Corporation. Nobody ever calls a newspaper Broadcasting Company that would sound weird and out of place wouldn't it??

MessageThe Democratic Republic of Aloria Daily is indeed our country's newspaper in the game, but that's a system-controlled newspaper that posts election results and results of the bills being voted on. Apart from the system, only the President, Prime Minister, or Foreign Affairs Minister can post anything else in it (which explains why I'm able to post my state of the nation address in the newspaper).

The forum newspaper, on the other hand, gives all parties a higher opportunity for role-play while also giving other nations a glimpse into what's happening in your country. This is not just something done in Aloria; other nations do it as well, and keep their forum newspaper.

As for the ABC thing --- well, I don't understand it either. I believe that was something made by the previous parties as a (roleplay) national broadcasting company for Aloria. Why they didn't settle for a newspaper for logical reasons, I don't know.

You can take a look at what we did in the past with regards to media roleplay here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=249407

Be advised that because the forums were changed, all of those links that I posted in that debate no longer exists.

MessageWell then lets change it to something more logical then. Not ABC. How about Alorian Advocate, The Alorian Times or The Alroian Examiner? Any other suggestions. Plus isn't the ABC in America called the American Broadcasting Company? We want to call this one Alorian Broadcasting Company? Its too un-original for me.

MessageI see. Well, I like The Alorian Times. May I know if the PP has a possible name in mind?

I'll try to explore a name with an acronym as well.

MessageBut newspapers don't really have acronyms don't they? You wouldn't see on the front page of the Irish Times saying IT or an American example, the New York Times saying NYT. It is only in television media that you have acronyms like RTE is short for Raidio TeilifĂs Eireann but nobody says that because A- English is more widely spoken than Gaelic in Ireland and B- Its impractical to say that all the time.

MessageSome newspapers do, though not used that often. For instance, we have the Philippine Daily Inquirer, which had used the acronym PDI. However, more people call it as "Inquirer".

And I just had this weird idea. Why not call it the Alorian National Times, or ANT?

MessageWow, are you from the Philippines? You have really good English if you are. All I know in Tagalog is Kumusta is that how you spell it?

Yes people call it that like in South Africa we have a newspaper called the Mail and Guardian but everyone calls the M and G but on the actual newspaper itself it says Mail and Guardian. Although, in Ireland everyone says it how it is like Irish Times, Dublin Journal, Cork Examiner etc etc. Nothing abbreviated here

MessageWell might I say you seem very educated and very good at English for a Filipino. Have you spent time outside the Philippines studying or does your country have a very excellent education system for a developing nation?

MessageI never studied outside the Philippines. I did study in private schools, though. And our education system uses English as a medium of instruction in almost every subject.

I can't really speak if our education system is really good, though. It's still something I have to evaluate further, especially since I plan on becoming a teacher soon. That might help expose me to public schools and have a better view of our education system.
