| This bill will simply do the following: 1) Rather than having Darnussia's police force carry military-grade equipment or having Darnussia's police force carry only non-lethal weapons, Darnussian police officers will carry standard firearms. 2) There will still be specially trained firearms units with military-grade equipment in case their services are required This bill seeks a compromise between those who wish for the police to carry military-grade equipment and those who wish for the police to carry only non-lethal weapons. Parties that want police to carry only non-lethal weapons should vote for this bill, as it is a step in the right direction for them. Parties that want police officers to carry standard firearms rather than military equipment or non-lethal weapons only should vote for this bill because this bill represents their interests. Parties that advocate military-grade weapons for police should vote for this bill because it is a good compromise that will satisfy the opposition somewhat that wants only non-lethal weapons for police while still allowing police to adequately fulfill their necessary duties. Plus, this bill won't ban all police from carrying military-grade weapons. It will just make it so that most police carry standard firearms and some specially trained firearms units will still be allowed to carry military-grade weapons. |
