Bill: Mixed Ownership of Industries

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Darnussia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2144

Description[?]:

The government should own some industries, not just nationalising those industries that are failing. Darnussia needs a mixed industry, not an industry dominated by private ownership. Some industries should be nationalised (such as certain essential industries), but most industries would be privately owned. For those who want a nationalised industry, this is a step in the right direction. For those who want a mixed industry (private and nationalised), this is exactly the bill you want. For those who want a privately owned industry, you must realise that certain essential industries should be government owned in order to ensure that essential services are provided.

We believe in full on government-out-of-the-picture private industries for the sake of what keeps capitalism going - competition. When you have competition you secure goods at lower prices at growing quality as the companies compete to win over consumers. You are not pushing for nationalizing of vital industries to society, you are pushing to mix everything. We cannot allow for that.

MessageSocial Democratic Party, why can't you vote for it? It seems rather in line with your party's stance on many things and if you vote "yes", it could help it pass.

MessageWhy do both the Social Democratic Party and the New Liberal Alliance vote "no" on this proposal? Even Canada has a mixed industry, along with a number of other capitalist countries (for instance, the Scandanavian countries). Please vote "yes". Please.
