Bill: Aloria First Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Workers Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3137

Description[?]:

We should only be giving aid to another nation when we should be worrying about ourselves first? Only in times of disaster should we be sending over aid and supplies not just at any time like what is happening currently. The reason being is that most countries who need aid have corrupt leaders and the government will spend the money and resources on themselves not on their people. That will be just a waste of money given by kind people.

OOC: This is true in the real world. Take Zimbabwe for example, now I've been there and it is a really shocking place just like many parts of South Africa which is why I would never want to move back there but I digress. Anyway, millions if not billions of Euro's in aid go to Zim but that grub Mugabe just takes it for himself and uses it for his own good. And yet, SA just sits there and does nothing and then in first world nations like here in Ireland give away money thinking it will help the poor but in actual fact it goes right into the pockets of dictators and every time I see some bleeding heart on the left in Dublin asking for a few spare Euros to donate I just say to them "Hey, I'm from South Africa and I've seen where your money goes, it goes right into Mugabe's pocket."

GPA, since you're from the third world too, you know that I'm not just making this up right?

MessageOOC: Well, I can't tell with certainty because I haven't read any proof about international donations being used wrongly by our leaders. Government money, yes. But international donations? Eh, I can't really tell for sure.

MessageWe in the GPA will vote YES, because our current government revenue does not permit us from giving too much.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.

Random quote: Although I understand and respect the intentions behind the gesture, this is not something that is universally understood or appreciated, and it tends to give out a negative impression of our party. ~ Anton Weinreich, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party, pleading with his members to stop burning the national flag
