Message | I'm serious on this, it isn't bad at all. I was conscripted into the German army when I turned 18, for 6 months. However the government has decided to end it. But, it was really good you could choose to join from 18-30, I did 18 because I wanted to finish it straight away. Some people just did military style training but didn't actually be a full military soldier like I was. It isn't like China where everyone has to go and they don't have a choice, women weren't required to join neither were groups who were persecuted by the Nazi regime e.g. Jews, Polish People, Homosexuals etc. So thats how I want it like this and looking back so far, my 6 months in the German army were probably the best days of my life so far. Like I said earlier, it isn't as bad and as stereotypical as you think it would be. Nothing like the movie Full Metal Jacket, trust me. |

Message | You probably think that they actually go the war. They do not! Only in times of war would the conscripts go. For most people including me, all we did was just be as soldiers for 6 months, do everything normal army personnel do and then go home. i would also like to point out that from your previous proposals you have supported a strong army but on this you go against. That is a double standard and contradictory of you. Also, with conscription most people will know how to defend themselves if their nation is invaded, like for me. I know exactly what to do and not to do if Germany is invaded. |

Message | I still support the current one, the proposed one we are forcing people to enlist. |

Message | Well not all people are forced to enlist. Women will be optional, disabled people are exempt and criminals should be banned. I would like to point out to you in real life, well in Germany at least is that a high majority of conscripts including me love it. Nothing can compare to the 6 months I did and what people don't understand is that its not all bad and tough like its stereotyped to be. Let me give you a real life example, after my brother finished his service in the military he stayed and they sent him to Afghanistan. And he didn't come back all mentally disabled or badly injured, he quite enjoyed his time there. |
