| This bill aims to give students and parents an opt-out option for sexual education if they believe that such education would be against their personal, political, ideological, or religious beliefs. Though we believe that the government has a role in helping educate students about sexual education, we also believe that we should give students and parents the option to decide whether to expose their students with this important issue or if they wish to teach this issue to their children themselves. In essence, this bill recognizes the role of parents as the primary educators and guardians of their children in matters involving their own body. |
