MessageWhy should the people be forced to be in a position they did not choose? This is taking valuable, productive years from a person's life. While their toiling away at an unwanted job they could be out getting a career or starting a famly. That is why the LUC and the "Coalition for the Future" think this is a good bill.

MessageWe fully agree. We propose that any Cabinet's official proposal has the words: "Coalition for the Future: No bill ...".

ToDebating the Coalition for the Future Bill 1 - Removing Forced Military/Civilian Service
Message"Does this Government not support a solid structure for our youth? Does this Government not support a strong Military force? Does this Government not support civic responsibility and patriotism? All men ought to do their duty and serve their country and yet the 'Defence' Secretary, who seems watery on National Security at best, thinks that to serve one's nation is not "valuable" or "productive". How can their Coalition allies stand for this?"

Message"Warmongers and militarists," said Sen. Tresta (SPP) in response to Buemi (Unionist). "They want to send our young people to die to sell their dirty weapons. For 50 years FIP & Unionist have continued to do so. But now we want to end this barbarity by signing this law."

Message"What Lies! The Unionist Party has a 500 year history of staunch pacifism! We have not went to war once in all of our history! Why does the SPP assume it can lie it's way through this Senate? No young people die during their term in our Military or Civic service because our nation is never at war. The purpose of the force is for security and to impose discipline. How dare they call us warmongerers when they themselves would have us sell-off our armed forces and allow foreign nations to invade our realm."

MessageThe idea that the LUC is weak on the military is wrong. But the idea the government should force our young people into a service they did not choose is government sanctioned serfdom. Forcing our young people to die in wars not of their choosing and to have them build roads in bridges in our civilian service. If anything this bill makes military service all the more nobler. In that THEY choose to serve.

MessageThe nation is never at war so why should we force people to join the military. If they don't want to join and were not at war then it shouldn't matter.

MessagePatriotism and civil service is a CHOICE and it is an infringement upon the civil rights of the citizen to arbitrarily force his/her/their enlistment into military or civil duties. Under no condition does the Chann Democratic Party support the infringement of civil rights and liberties and we therefore call all peace loving and democracy minded individuals and parties to vote YES on this bill.

Random fact: Real-life organisations should not be referenced in Particracy, unless they are simple and generic (eg. "National Organisation for Women" is allowed).

Random quote: "In any country there must be people who have to die. They are the sacrifices any nation has to make to achieve law and order." - Idi Amin
