MessageThe Verde Nationalist Party supports this treaty joining Lodamun into the ATR in general, however, we are concerned with a few minor provisions in said treaty. Most significantly, Article 3, Section 3, which discourages member states from establishing and/or maintaining free trade with monarchist nations. In the interest in promoting not only Lodatien goods, but also our culture in foreign lands who might have a hereditary regime, the VNP does not support this provision. However, given that Art. 3 Sec. 3 does not appear to have language which is binding, we are willing to vote in favor of the Alliance of Terran Republic ratification as it stands.

However, on the seperate addendum offered by the Alliance into the so-called Council of Republics, there is a clear provision requiring all participant nations to join in a common foreign policy. In essence, it would require Lodamun to abdicate its authority to determine its own foreign policy decisions to a multi-lateral council, thus surrendering a significant portion of our own national soveriegnty. As this addendum is NOT a part of the ATR Treaty, and would require ratification independently, this issue will not affect the VNP vote on this specific treaty. However, should the CoR Addendum Treaty come before the Congress, the Verde National Party would have no choice but to oppose it on grounds of national soveriegnty.

Random fact: Before creating a party organisation, check to see whether there are any existing organisations which cover the same agenda.

Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner
