Bill: Emergency Reservations
Details
Submitted by[?]: Beluz Democratic Karavist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3309
Description[?]:
The Williams family has remained inconsiderate of preparations for crises. Why should we abolish the power of local governments to set curfews? The curfews will only be legal if the federal government declares a state of emergency. For them to do that, they would need the approval of the legislature, which means a bill would have to be passed to declare a state of emergency, then local governments may set curfews according to the relevance of the situation to the area. You complain about your house being seen as small-government. You accuse us of being against the people's will by supporting small-government. In truth, your house is the most small-government house in Beluzia at the moment. Everyone else is "small-government leaning" but your house goes to being "moderate small government" and you're going to pretend you don't know why? Your house: 1) Abolished government responsibilities in times of crisis: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=348108 2) Minimized government involvement in Finance: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=348172 3) Decided to take "no stance" on currency value: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=348173 4) Attempted to deregulate the hemp industry, therefore trying destablizing the "industry" itself in favour of mediocre production levels: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=348149 When a crisis hits, your house will be the one that says "Oh, we don't have a stance" but you're going to be complaining about being small-government. The Karav family's devolutionary policies are not because we don't have a stance; we recognize that different houses have different stances, and we believe in allowing autonomy so that voters, in some regions, can get what they voted for instead of being ignored as minorities. If we controlled all of Beluzia, we know what laws we would put in place, but we recognize the authority of other royal families over their own non-sovereign dominions. We beg you to change your stance so that security forces will be more effective in times of crisis. The government will need more control. |

Message | We had this conversation earlier, my house's position on government involvement changed some time before the last elections. I'm pro-small government now. Staying out of people's lives and giving them as much freedom as possible is they way to go. Also, you're the one who opposed allowing the police to call in the military in times of crisis not too long ago so don't act like you're on top of everything. |

Message | Military/police separation is a different concept. Police use non-lethal weapons. |
