Bill: Bill to Allow Poor Families to Augment their Income
Details
Submitted by[?]: Radical Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3316
Description[?]:
The Radical Party supports protection against exploitation for all children, however the current outright ban on employment for those under the age of 18 presents a problem for the poorest families who need as many sources of income as they can get. We propose allowing those aged 16-18 to work a small number of hours a week provided that it does not interfere with education or present an attractive alternative to education for those aged 16-18. |
Proposals
Article 1

Proposed: Child labour is allowed, but with additional regulations to those of adult labourers.

Message | We wish to emphasise that under our current law a person continues to be a child until the age of 18 & that this law would still forbid those 13 & under from seeking employment. We seek the opinions of other parties on what further checks should be included. |

Message | We strongly oppose allowing children under the age of 16 to work, children between 16 and 18 could be allowed to work a few hours a day but ideally they should be encouraged to seek higher education. |

Message | In order to get this bill passed we have opted to amend it so as not to apply to those aged 14-15. The new draft only applies to those aged 16-18 |

Random quote: First and second class seats on public transport shall be BANNED! We are all FIRST CLASS people, regardless of whether we are rich or poor and can afford or not afford to pay for a more expensive seat. From now on, all seats on trains, buses, trams, planes and so on shall be the SAME. We will all travel in the SAME way, TOGETHER. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |
