Bill: Union Shops And Syndicalist Workplaces
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kundrati Revolutionary Movement
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2050
Description[?]:
Though the Kundrati Union legalized labor unions nearly 14 years ago, there are still remnants of the old anti-union laws on the books - laws which we must change. To this end, the laws of the Kundrati Union shall be ammended to: 1. Allow businesses and unions to freely enter into contracts stipulating that all people who seek employment at that workplace must join the union as a condition of employment. Laws requiring "Open Shops" will henceforth be considered repealed. 2. Remove legal barriers to the formation of syndicalist unions, particularly "Criminal Syndicalism Laws". 3. Recognize the legitimacy of union/worker-owned enterprises in our nation's tax and business laws. 4. Remove laws that forbid having union/worker representatives sit on a company's board of directors. |

Message | We don't know enough about the issue to take a stand. We can't find the named laws in the legal code. We will therefore abstain in the name of ignorance. |

Message | These hold-over laws mostly still exist only on the prefecture level. (and what can i say - we're running out of things to vote on, so i'm assuming a legislative history based on how the nation's laws were when the game started) |

Random fact: Players who deliberately attempt to present a misleading picture of the nation's current RP laws will be subject to sanction. |
