Details

Submitted by[?]: Transhumanistische Vereniging

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3392

Description[?]:

Vanuku is presently a member of the tyrannical International Convention on Intellectual Property Rights.

(Treaty text: "The purpose of this treaty is to promote technological development and the rule of law by coordinating international enforcement of appropriate copyright and patent laws, while still allowing for legitimate fair use of intellectual property by third-parties.")

In order to abolish copyright and end the barriers to technological advancement stifling Vanuku, we must first withdraw from the Convention.

MessageWe, the OPL, won't support this bill when it goes up for voting.
Copyright and patent laws are in place to coordinate the technological advancement and keep this technology in our country and not in the hands of our enemy's.
