MessageLord Fauburg, KLP:

Dear house,

this treaty is one of the deepest intrusion of our national souvereignty ever. Me, and many other member of this senate have repeatedly warned and questioned the influence of that treaty on our foreign and immigration policy.
What, for example happens to the NFC or to the strict immigration law?
May I ask the Princeps Seantus, whether he will be king in his own house?
And does the Princeps Senatus joining me and my backbench collegues in paying tribute to the fact, that after the signing of this treaty Selucia will be nothing more or less then a small chain of Islands in the Ocean and not a great Empire.

MessagePrinceps Senatus, KLP, Eberhard Schlee:

I take the worries and doubts of my collegues very seriously, however I can assure you, that Selucia would not become a second class state.
We will also not giving up our strict immigration policy and the National Foreigner Card will be an obligation for all new immigrants, even if they are from the UMN.
We will also impose certain restrictions on labour, goods and services if we should become member, this will also include a transformation period.
As I said before, Selucia cannot stand aside and leave such a huge market out of it's reach.

MessageAs I said before, we will not making this an issue of direct democracy. The people have given us the mandate to govern and we will do so, if there is a majority.

The activtiy of the UNM will be examined and we will give the Senate a detailed explanation as soon as we have examined whether the acitivites of the UNM are sufficent.

MessageDear ladies and gentelmen,

the KLP is neither in the position nor has it the moral authority to speak against a clearly expressed public opinion.
We want a closer scrutiny of that treaty, before we can agree on joining it.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
