MessageMr. Runatjs (Speaker),

The Likaton Vienība Partija is proud to support this legislation back to our heritage. We realize many of our colleagues will not understand or care for the historical significance of this change, but it matters to the hundreds of thousands, millions even, of Likatonians who are proud of our collective heritage and support the proposal here today. We call on all members of the Dorum to support this measure.

We hereby open debate on this Act.

MessageOOC: "Latvian" would be out-of-character - Terra has no 'Latvia'.

IC: You can't legislate ethnicity, and you can't rewind history to a bit you liked better.

MessageOOC: Just observing at the moment - considering a return of the 'Sturm und Drang' incarnation to Likatonian politics. I'm not trying to be OCD about it, just trying to help. :)

MessageWhile the AM RLP appreciates the intent of this bill, we feel that it could lead to a second class citizen status for those members of the population who are more recent, ethnicity diverse members of the population. Therefore, we must dissent.

MessageMr. Runatjs (Speaker),

Perhaps the removal of Section III, where inscriptions in both languages are allowed would effectively mix the new understanding of immigrants and the history of our great nation?

MessageWe have updated the legislation to make a more friendly name change to accomodate new immigrants and those Likatonians not familiar with our national heritage. We will now move this legislation to a vote.

MessageWe feel that the voter support for the nationalistic parties show that the statement "The People of Likatonia have clearly supported measures to re-culturize the nation. " is not yet true, therefore we must dissent.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.

Random quote: "A good politician is quite as unthinkable as an honest burglar." - H. L. Mencken
