Message | As much as I personally may be an atheist, this legislation is far to overreaching and is actually fairly oppressive. |

Message | :) Understandable, from a typical viewpoint. The SCI considers religions to be destructive forms of mental abberation. Just as we do not allow con-men to get away with scams.... similarly do we not support letting religious leaders trick and shame people with imaginary fears and retribution while collecting their money. We live in the 35th century, we can give up the fairy tales now..... |

Message | The difference between con men and religious leaders is that most religious leaders actually believe the bull shit they preach. This bill criminalizes what a person believes, how can you call that freedom? |

Message | This also essentially changes that government from a secular state to an atheist theocracy, I don't care what century this is, this is not okay. |

Message | This doesn't criminalize belief in religion. It only prohibits outward display, evangelism, or organization of the scam itself. You are fully free to believe whatever irrational nonsense you want, in your own home, but if you try to corrupt others, then I have an issue. |

Message | Half the point of religion is the culture and community of it, this is a blatant violation of everything we stand for. |

Message | Well, we're definitely going to disagree on that. |

Message | If a group of citizens pray in their home, technically that would be a violation of this bill. If a group of religious citizens gather in the public square to discuss there religion (something that should be allowed by freedom of speech) that would be banned by this bill. |

Message | The freedom of speech argument is specious because, as I said earlier, we view the propagation of religion to be akin to attempting to scam and defraud people. That is not free speech, that is unethical and should have no place in a modern Ikradon. Also, let's separate this out as well..... the right to privacy in someone's home is paramount. We do not support, nor see this bill as, attempting to prohibit individuals to gather in private to do anything, unless they are coercing someone into attending these religious services. If everything is completely voluntary in private and not attempting to evangelize or advertize, the SCI has no quarrel. We take issue when these private aberrant views are foisted on others, especially children. |
