MessageWe support article three. We would consider voting for the bill with either of the two other proposals, however, article 4 kills the bill.

MessageWe must say that sadly our visions of socialism differ quite markedly. we must say that we feel that in Ikradon, as a successful democratic socialist country the state is the embodiment of our citizens' power. This power is distributed equally amongst our citizens through the one man, one vote principle - were we to allow large private monopolies to re-form, we would erode this equality of power and end the true democracy that Ikradonians enjoy.

With particular regards to recreational drugs, we believe that legalisation is a necessary evil and that all artificial stimulants carry risks - thus it is imperative that the government have the ability manipulate supply and prices to reduce demand, and to enjoy what profits there can be had from their sale in order to direct those profits towards their social costs (In terms of treatment for addiction, health problems, etc.).

Equally, we believe that private markets in such substances with a high degree of potential social harm would be highly damaging - the onus of a private business is to sell as much as possible of a product (e.g alcohol), regardless of the degree to which excessive consumption causes harm to the rest of society.

Monopolies are actively broken up in Ikradon.

Also, private businesses are worker-run enterprises. Those tend not to have the same "maximize production and consumption" paradigms as elite-owned firms.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
