Bill: Closed Shops Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hacia Casa

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3558

Description[?]:

"Closed shop" arrangements put grossly unfair pressure on workers to join a particular trade union. This set-up should not be tolerated. Every Egelian worker deserves the right to join a trade union, but they should have the right not to join a trade union as well.

MessageMr Speaker,

if workers wish to organize themselves according to a certain set of rules in running a business, they should be free to do so. Competition between various forms of corporations and diverse business models is a crucial component of laissez-faire capitalism.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Annette Davidson forgets that you can't have a competitive market economy when companies are being blackmailed and effectively taken over by trade union militants.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.

Random quote: "'The illusion of Pontesi nationhood'. The Serpent speaks. How can they say these things? How can they call our country an illusion? You can see it clear as day, these people won’t stop until they’ve destroyed us all." - Morgan Einar, former Pontesian general
