Bill: Prison Labour Refom Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2052

Description[?]:

Telamon today is a modern, liberal and tolerant society, yet we have a Stalinist prison system of forced labour. This we feel must end as prisoners also have rights. Therefore this bill will give prisoners the right to work and be paid should they wish to, but recognises that those who do not wish to work cannot be forced to.

MessageOh, thay plant trees, and we have fresh air! It is cool, isn't it? And of course our forced labour methods have nothing similar to gulag's methods. Nobody dies in our prison, because working! It is more similar to sport education :)

MessageThey commit crimes, and you expect them to laze away in prison?!

No! Confinement and rehabilitation, might work on common thieves, or aggressive teenagers.

But not for the majority of the prison population.

Reluctantly we agree with the Communist Party and Conservative party.

They should pay for the crimes they did...not play for the crimes they did.

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.

Random quote: "My tenure will be controversial and it is, quite obviously, true that I am the most right-wing Prime Minister this country has seen in several decades.” - Margaret Woodhall, former Dranian politician
