Bill: Military Medal - Son/Daughter of Lodamun
Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand Nationalist Fraction
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3627
Description[?]:
In order to honour and thank members of the military for shown bravery and loyalty, we propose to set a new military medal. The medal would be quite exclusive, and can only be earned during war or in times of serious crisis. The medal can be awarded to a person (military), as well as a group of people (platoon, regiment, ...). The order of the medal shall be known as: Son (respectively Daughter) of Lodamun. Candidates for the medal are presented and recommended by a hierarchical superior. Candidates will be screened by High Command, which desides whether or not the medal will be awarded. Message | We could let this apply to both. Our thinking was to only apply it to regulars, but considering paramilitaries can also do great things for our country. Anton Spinoy |

Message | Mr. Speaker, What does the Minister call "regulars" ? We have paramilitary troops who serve as our police force and active military, and reserve troops who are only called for service during wartime or serious emergencies. Instead of a bloated public sector like most countries, Lodamun hires private sector firms to do public works. We hire private police, private militaries, private everything. -- Motya Bogomolov, NRG Spokesman on Defence |

Message | Regulars should be those who were directly hired/selected by the State. Maybe the term was chosen a bit poorly. In this case we were referring to the reserve. Again, we would be able to award this medal to ALL troops. Anton Spinoy |

Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand |
