Message | Mr. Speaker, We'd like to open debate on this Act. The Democratic Union would like to start by pointing out this Act will affect less than 20% of the income tax brackets that we set out to tax and therefore does not represent an unrealistic burden on our finances. The right to live under a house is a key and fundamental aspect of what it means to live in this great nation. Whether that home is a house, an apartment, a bungalow, or a condo, or anything, the DU believes we should assist in making it affordable for those who really can barely or not even afford the costs. In addition, the right to public transport should be equal and fair to every citizen, regardless of their tax contribution or their pay rate. Money does not provide a higher status, and the means of public transportation should be further and more easily available to all of our citizens. I Yield. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
