Bill: Assembly Efficiency Protocol, 3642

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Syndicalist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3643

Description[?]:

We note:

- The large number of bills currently either in the debating stage or being put to a vote.
- The number of these bills which have been before the Assembly before, and which were returned to the debate stage due to the interuption of elections in 3640 and 3642.

We propose:

- That no party issues calls for further elections until all legislation currently before the Assembly (in either the debate or the voting stage) has either been voted upon (i.e. passed or failed) or withdrawn. This would include all legislation introduced up to and including October 3642.

We believe that this will better ensure the strength and efficiency of our legislature while clearing our substantial legislative backlog.

We would also like to reaffirm the Assembly Protocol of 3640 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=404746, specifically the provision whereby newly introduced legislation (i.e. Bills with proposed changes to law) should honour a minimum 6-month debate stage before proceeding to a vote.

May we ask the parties of the Assembly to signal their support or otherwise for this protocol.

MessageWe feel a 3 month voting period would allow enough time for revisions without overly slowing the process of governmental motion, so will will not abide by the 6 month agreement. However, we will agree to the rest.
