Message | The PWG would like to open a debate about renaming the title of office of the head of government. As it stands now, "Chairman of the Executive Council" does not only restrict the title to males, but it also does not reflect 1) the federal union, and 2) the fact that the holder of the office is the head of government in a parliamentary system. The PWG is open to proposals from all parties in the congress. The PWG suggests titles such as "Prime Minister of the Federal Union", "Premier of the Federal Union", "Chancellor of the Federal Union" would be more fitting. OOC: This is all assuming that we agree that Gaduridos adopts a parliamentary system (like Germany, India, Singapore), and not a presidential system (USA, Mexico, much of Latin America) nor a semi-presidential system (France, Russia). We can of course have a debate about this if necessary. |

Message | The Conservative Party has always supported the presidential system that was in place prior to 3647; the year when we reluctantly voted in favor of the "Head of State Act of 3646-7", proposed by FMG, which set up the current system of government in our nation. This bill was proposed following an alarming poll conducted by the Federal Union of Gaduridos Daily that found that 100% of respondents wanted the Head of State and the Head of Government to be two separate officials (http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews.php?after=19584&before=19596&nation=23). However, since that poll was conducted nearly thirty years ago, if support for switching back to a presidential system is present we would support a bill that did away with the Head of Government position. If this support is not present, then we would support changing the title to "Prime Minister of the Federal Union" as the PWG is proposing. |

Message | Thank you to the Conservative Party for the input, and the PWG agrees that should there be overwhelming support for a return to a presidential system, Congress should make the necessary changes. For the time being, considering that support for a parliamentary system was 100% 30 years ago, and that in the absence of current subsequent polls on the issue, the PWG moves to proceed the bill into voting. |
