Message | Mr. Speaker, The LSP introduced this legislation under the last government. It was regretfully voted down. We have reintroduced it now in the hopes that the new government may seek to pass it into law. While our proposal retains local control over education, we are asking that the national government impose this one requirement. Charter schools are publicly funded. In order to safe guard taxpayer dollars, we seek to limit the operational bodies of these schools to non-profit organizations. Henry Isleton, MP Minister for Education and Culture |
