Bill: Prime Ministerial Code Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3690

Description[?]:

The LFP is confused why the leader of the smallest parliamentary party currently holds the most powerful post in Government? Prime Minister Caff took 10% of the popular vote in the last election and yet heads up the cabinet as well as the UCC holding the Health and Infrastructure Ministries.

This seems totally undemocratic and the LFP wish to move a bill that will see all parties agree that the Head of Government should be selected from one of the two largest parties in Parliament - NOT the smallest.

As an unprecedented law the articles are below and will be presented to the house for immediate vote.

Article 1
Following the next election the Prime Minister can only be selected from one of the two largest parties in the nation.

Article 2
Prime Minister Caff must see out the remainder of the legislative term to avoid constitutional crisis but must resign immediately following the election to allow a new cabinet to be formed under Article 1.

MessageMr. Speaker,

If the members of the Liberal Freedom Party took some time to understand Aloria's cabinet process, they will see that the Union Party is in a coalition with the UCP. President Gillespie brought together different political parties to work together to manage the issues of the nation and to best serve the Alorian people.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LFP is oblivious to the fact that the UCP (Not UCC) has previously been the largest party in Aloria. This new upstart party needs to gather its information and understand Aloria before it makes petty remarks.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LFP also doesn't realize that the Union Party and UCP are in an alliance. ARWNC. It has helped to form the current coalition government.

I am a little confused as to why the UCP feel that having been the largest party in the past enables them to hold the head of Government office. Are they not a little embarrassed to gloat about their previous glory when clearly the electorate have had enough of them now? The LFP would advise the Union Party and the UCP to make their coalition more final by abolishing both parties and starting again - I am hoping their egos will not get in the way of this. This is why the LFP exists. To challenge the established snobbery and scoffing that keeps amny women and right minded people out of politics altogether.

MessageOOC: the Alorian Broadcasting Company published a video of a rabid protestor named Eleanor Garsdale who trespasses into the Congress Building. She was later dragged out by police.

Mr. Speaker,

There are claims that somehow, conservative ideology is snobbish and deserves to be dead. Let me remind these immigrant protesters that the Union Party has only been through two elections. In our very first election, we were the second largest party in Aloria, with 163 seats. In our second election, we became the largest political party with 172 seats, and we also achieved the presidency. I challenge the Liberal Freedom Party to aim as high, because I do seriously doubt they will gain any seats at all.

I would like to go back to the issue at hand. The Cabinet does not have to consist of only the ruling party. That kind of proposal would never pass the legislature. President Calvin Gillespie brought together the conservative and centrist parties to form a cabinet, and the government is functioning greater than ever. I dismiss the antics of the Liberal Freedom Party as stunts and histrionics.

MessageOOC: How can I address the speaker or indeed the Congress when I have no seats? That makes no sense... In no legislature can anyone just walk in and debate.

People do not think you are snobbish because of your ideology, they think you are snobbish because of your words. How dare you address me as an immigrant protester, my ancestry runs throughout generations of this nation. How childish too to taunt us with the number seats you have won. The LFP exists not to one day rule but to hold bigoted populist politics to account.

If we take even just one seat in the elections we will be proud and we will fight as hard as we can to represent the citizens who are disenfranchised by this coalition of fat cat smug politicians.

It is also worth noting that at no point did we call for one party alone to hold the cabinet, we simply suggest that a mediocre leader of the democratically decided smallest party is perhaps not the wisest or most prudent choice to run this nations government.

MessageMr. Rendell,

I would also like to see the legislation that backs the appointment or election of a speaker of the house. If none exists then you Mr. Liam Rendell are acting illegally and above your station. I trust that this benevolent government will put in place legislation to line their walls with many more senior office holders.

MessageMrs. Garsdale,

I would love to provide the legislation that approved of my position. Here is the following link: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=411670. This certainly shows that you aren't aware of what the government is doing. You arrive on the scene with pomp and riot and you appear to demagogue the institution of our current political system. I wish you the best of luck in the next elections because you'll need it.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I stand corrected and in keeping as a party of integrity I apologize for this blatant gaffe. However this does not include a revocation of my dismay at your bigoted approach to debate from a party that shares an opposite point of view. You are in government so should probably not be surprised to find yourself under scrutiny.
