ToDebating the Save the Whales Act
MessageLocal governments are too irresponsible to be put in charge of whales. They will care more about the contribution of whaling to their local fishing and tourism industries than the greater ecological concerns of the Gaduri state as a whole. Whales are a moral concern of the whole nation, not just the few coastal towns from which the whaling is conducted.

MessageWhales move around the waters that surround all of Gaduridos, not just one province, or one area. As much as the PWG is in favour of devolution, putting whaling in the hands of local governments will be a geographical impracticality.

MessageI would also point out that under the local government option, it might only take *one* local council to permit whaling in order to continue the terrible decimation of our whaling stock. It seems undemocratic to allow the future of our whales to be decided in such a manner.

MessageThe Conservatives are opposed to this bill. We believe that our current policy on whaling does not need to be altered. If the government finds significant evidence that the whale population is headed towards extinction, then they can simply adjust the quotas in accordance with that evidence. We don't see any reason to go as far as banning whaling, and we are highly skeptical of devolving whaling policy for the same reasons as PWG.

Messageif our party have evidance that whals are going toward extinction, I believe the government can find easily evidence as well.

I'll be brief, Whalling is immoral, we should ban it.

MessageSr. Presidente,

Union Socialism Alliance believes that private morals should have little role in the governance of our great nation. We believ that whaling is a terrible act, that hurts majestic, benevolent and intelligent creature in the name of profit and unnecessary hunting. However, we do believe that research is vital to innovation and knowledge, and vital to the future of Gaduridos. That is why we support it, but even then we must demand strict codes of conduct, and strict submission of research based on this whaling. It should be minimal, and as painless as possible.

Danki,
