Message | Rt Hon Harold Clarke, Hutorian Prime Minister, Mr Speaker, we propose this legislation on the basis that we believe a 40% tax rate on corporations is grossly unfair and puts Hutori at a distinct disadvantage within the world economy. Furthermore, we believe a 40% tax rate suffocates the potential growth and development of Hutorian businesses and Mr Speaker, our argument is that we need to have a competitive tax rate which allows Hutorian business to compete within the global market. A new corporation tax rate of 20% is the first step to what we believe will make the Hutorian economy more attractive to global investments which in turn will make our economy more competitive and develop, allowing Hutori to become a state where investors want to invest and this will provide a wide range of benefits to both the state and peoples of the state. |
