Message | Mr Speaker, while we support these proposals, we must ask; who would be responsible for planting at above replacement level if all forests are nationally owned? Would replanting come out of the national budget, or would the private logging companies be responsible for it? Furthermore, who is responsible for security in the event there were to be trouble at these locations (whether it be militant environmentalists or rowdy teenagers)? Would the government have to provide security for these companies, or could we force them to guard their own operations if need be (which we would gather is in their best interest)? Essentially, Mr Speaker, my question is who is responsible for what under these new laws being proposed. |

Message | Mr. Speaker the Hutorian National Forest Service will be responsible as a whole for the security of our nation's forest however, direct security of licensed logging sites will largely be left to the private companies. Although the Forest Service may be called upon if necessary. |
