Message | Seems that private charter schools are currently allowed, they are simply not allowed to operate on a for profit basis. |
Date | 15:49:56, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Cydweith Rhydd | To | Debating the Charter School Act |
Message | It's bad enough that education is in private hands, without it being run as a money-making venture as well. |

Message | Private schools should be able to make a profit. That will be their urge to perform better. Public schools lack incentives and will never achieve the urge to improve education. They only act when the state tells them to do so. Barmenistan deserves better.... |

Message | This has NOTHING to do with private schools. |
Date | 06:59:46, January 04, 2006 CET | From | Plaid Comiwnyddol Rhyddiaeth | To | Debating the Charter School Act |
Message | Indeed, NEP is correct, Charter Schools are defined as "free, privately run, publicly funded schools" It seems that the BLP is wanting to allow for-profit corporations to have a certain "educational" loophole for public subsidies and provide a space for advertising, edutainment, and early access to learned brand loyalty in childrens formative years. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
