Bill: The Monarchy Dissolution Act of 3755 - Part I

Details

Submitted by[?]: Forward Party of Dolgaria

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3755

Description[?]:

This act will be expanded once Dolgaria has withdrawn from the Aristocratic Privileges Act.

This Act will mark the end of the prominence of Dolgaria's longstanding monarchy, in accordance with the Republic of Dolgaria Founding Act of 3754.

Parts of this Act will invoke the Union of Dolgaria Act of 3636 ( http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=403941 ), the last major change to Dolgaria's national identity before the current monarchical government was re-established.

Article I - The Flag of the Republic of Dolgaria will be reversed to remove the symbolic seal on the current flag.

Article II - The National Anthem will be changed to reflect the People of Dolgaria rather than the Empire and the Monarchy.

Article III - The title "Imperial Chancellor," the head of government, will be changed to "Prime Minister." Although the Prime Minister position does not currently exist, this sets the standard should a law separate the duties of the Head of Government and Head of State.

Article IV - The title for the Head of State will be changed to "President."

Article V - The "Reichstag" will convert to the "Federal Parliament."

Article VI - Dolgaria's imperial national motto will be altered to reflect values held by many in the nation.

Article VII - "Grand Duchies" will be converted into "Provinces."

Article VIII - The number of seats in the Parliament will be increased to 450 to give greater representation and more opportunities for new parties.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
