Bill: More Representation

Details

Submitted by[?]: LiberalDemocraticFreedomTaxAndSpendParty

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2166

Description[?]:

We propose that the size of parliament be increased to 603 seats so that there is always a clear majority, and little gerrymandering can be accomplished.

Just for reference: 302 seats would be required for a majority and 402 seats would be required for a two-thirds majority.

This would destroy democracy, and it also has no seat:population:percentage formula, it is simply random.

MessageThere is no gerrymandering in this system -- what a thinly veiled attempt to gain more seats for yourself.

MessageI have 40% of the seats in the current system with only 35% of the voters, that is not fair to every party; if my proposal were implemented then my percentage of the seats would be about the same as my votes 35%.

You would gain seats to underr my proposal, as would every party.
