Bill: Withdrawal from League of Nuclear Nations

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alorian Green Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3765

Description[?]:

Nuclear bombs have been dropped before. Seconds later, prosperous and lifefull cities are transformed to a cities of death and suffering. Innocent people die, and the attacks do nothing but create pain and suffering in long times to come. We can not let this happen again, never.

There are many problems in the world that can be solved by moderation. Alcohol damages us, but we can live with moderate amounts. Car traffic can be lethal, but the dangers are preventable through growth in public transportation, better roads and safer cars. Furthermore we have hospitals and emergency troops that can save lives and heal possible damages. These possibilities are severely amputated after a nuclear attack. The infrastructure and buildings will be demolished and large parts of the health personnel nearby will be dead.

Nuclear weapons can never be safe. As long as there are nuclear bombs in Terra, there will also be a possibility that it will be used. Either on purpose, or through a human or technical fault. If a nuclear bomb is used, it is one large crime against humanity. The problem with nuclear weapons is that it never can be solved through moderation.

Therefore the Green Party wants to ban production and storage of nuclear weapons on Alorian soil. It is the first step towards a new and better strategy for full abolition of nuclear weapons. To do this we will have to withdraw from the League of Nuclear Nations. An act like this is a concrete and binding way to say "Never again".

MessageNuclear bombs allow us to enlighten the world and bring about Christ's second coming at any moment, as well as enlighten pockets of heathens by dousing them in God's love and nuclear fire. As such, we oppose and suggest those in favor of the bill be imprisoned for thoughtcrime. Amen.
