Bill: Adoption Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 3764
Description[?]:
The present system allows almost any family of any description, no matter how undesirable, to adopt a child. We propose that the vetting process should be more thorough, and that adoption should be confined to opposite-sex couples who are married. Experience has proved time and again that marriage is the best setting in which to raise children. Cibor Saloman Justice spokesman |

Message | There is no doubt that the children are the future of this nation. And it would be ignorant of this government to continue to neglect adoption practices that may or may not be exploitative in nature. Setting a standard for the entire nation in the interest of safety would be a better system of management. With regards to the restrictions on the couples that may adopt, it seems rather odd to discredit the ability of same-sex couples in raising children properly. It is the belief of this government that the environment in which a child develops is of greatest concern, as opposed to the simple matter of the sexuality of the parents. This governments believes that this is a paltry statement that reflects exclusivity and, to an extent, a violation of basic human decency in its nature. Article 2 will not stand. |

Message | We are happy to support an increase in regulation for adoption, but it is not the position of the NUP to discriminate against people's sexuality. |
