Bill: Minority Government of Gregory Cromwell
Details
Submitted by[?]: Ecumenical Constitutional Democrat Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3780
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, Until a time when negotiations produce a new cabinet, free of the nationalist influence - we propose that a provisional minority government be formed. We believe our clear electoral mandate entitles us to this - and we hope those who would attempt to continue Powers' Presidency understand that that would in all likelihood create civil strife of unimaginable magnitude. This is a temporary measure - we are in close negotiations with multiple parties and will flesh out a united font cabinet later. For now, we urge all non-Nationalist parties to support this provisional minority government in order to ensure the immediate removal of Powers. We urge the Nationalists to be reasonable and also accept defeat with grace and forbearance - we Hosians are morally compelled to be forgiving and will reward rational co-operation with compromise. We stress this is temporary - all parties who wish for particular seats in a future cabinet, please contact us after supporting this transitional bill. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Nationalists together with the Moderates have a total of 224 seats in this Presidium. This is hardly the 'defeat' of what the ECDP is claiming to be. Hannes Percy Faction Leader NAP-EL |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I am not surprised that the DLP would vote in favour of this bill, considering that they voted against repealing the bill that made Hosianism the official state religion. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Again the GNRG will armchair quarterback but offer no real leadership! Aaron Richardson Leader of the Independence Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We are not desperate to be in the government. For all my party cares, the government can continue as it is now. The Foreign Minister can take control of the Ministry of Trade, and the last budget by Simon Landau can remain in place. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We would like to remind Mr. Fertig that we do not answer to him concerning the way we vote. At the moment we are willing to vote for any alternative to a Powers led government. We will not support the sexist JDP party, their president, or any government in which they are seated. Joshua Fauver Democratic Labour Party leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I did not try to dictate how the DLP votes, so I don't understand why Joshua Fauver is implying that. It is just like when he told me to "shut up" while saying that an MP shouldn't dictate when others speak in the Presidium or not. I have never told a Member of the Presidium to shut up. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We assume that Mr. Fertig is just illiterate at this point. Based on the way he voted on our education reform bill, it is not wonder why. We did not suggest that Mr. Fertig nor his party attempted to dictate the way we vote, we merely implied that he behaved as if we owed him some sort of explanation. Also, Mr. Fertig and his band of thugs did, in fact, try to silence the leader of the Independence Party from voicing their objection to the Powers bill. So let the record show that Mr. Fertig is either being willfully ignorant or deliberately disingenuous. Joshua Fauver Democratic Labour Party leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, 1) My statements were to express the fact that I witnessed something I expected. I didn't desire an explanation. I apologise if Joshua Fauver misunderstood the intentions behind my statement. 2) Joshua Fauver told me, an elected Member of the Presidium, to shut up. I did not try to silence any Member of the Presidium. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Strictly OOC: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=424987 in here the LIP actually claimed that someone was sitting opposite to them and literally addressing the Presidium in coalition talks. In fact the LIP can meddle in coalition talks outside the Presidium and express their support or their objections, but they can not CLAIM that the GNRG is 'sitting' opposite to them because the LIP doesn't have any seats. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, And again the GNRG is doing what ever it takes to keep a hold on government. They attack other party leaders and are trying to keep a hand in government. Aaron Richardson Party Leader |
Date | 07:57:27, December 29, 2014 CET | From | Great National Republican Guard | To | Debating the Minority Government of Gregory Cromwell |
Message | Mr. Speaker, I had resigned from the government. I have no interest in being a part of the government. If a minority government is proposed that we like, we will vote in favour of it. I have no more desire to have a "hold on government" than any other party. I do not remember attacking any party leader who is a Member of the Presidium, and I do not see how I am trying to keep a hand in government. Every party wants a hand in government. I am not forcing any party to vote in favour of what I want, and I will not be forced to support a cabinet bill that includes parties that aren't willing to stand up against Hosianism. Just like any other MP, I am free to say what I like and what I don't like. Just like any other party, my party is free to vote yes or no on a bill. I have not prevented any party from voting how they want to vote, and I have not told any Member of the Presidium that they are not allowed to speak. My expression of my demands and my opinions are not things that control the Presidium. We always wonder why we are blamed for the decisions of others. Members of the Presidium can easily ignore my voice and my party, and form a government that I don't like. I am not stopping them. -- Andre Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG |

Message | Mr. Speaker. We are obviously opposed to this proposal. Dangerous times for the Lodamese Republic. However we are not superman and cant control everything at once. We would hate to see this renegade party take over. Matteo Powers President |
