Message | Testimony of VALERIE CHANN, Minister of Finance Mr. Senate Warden and Members of the Senate, As Minister of Finance, I wholeheartedly back this proposal to increase the tax on the luxury of goods. This will aid in the redistribution of wealth and will help to lower taxes for the poor so that they may be elevated. |

Message | We are very happy to hear this public endorsement of our bill! Thank you Chan National Party! We are excited to see the dream of a decreased income tax burden on the lowest tax bracket finally coming close to being a reality! The Reform Option is also happy to see support from the Unionists on this bill. As we have discussed the importance of raising the tax threshold for the lowest tax bracket in the past and come to agreement to the merits of such a move. Cheers! -Vesse Jentura, Head Speaker of the Reform Option Council |

Message | We agree with the House of Chann that voting on a new income tax proposal should only happen once we know how much this luxury tax increase brings in every year in revenues. That said, we have proposed our own tax reform that we wish to put up to vote when we know it can be paid for through the luxury sales tax increase: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=430687 Until then we have proposed it so that everyone can have a look and continue the discussion for Tax Reform! |
