Bill: Administrative Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Plaid Geidwadol Traddodiadol (PGT)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3814

Description[?]:

Establishing a more efficient administration and society based on traditional conservative principles.

Article 1: Government corruption leads to waste, lack of action, and destruction of the public good. Increasing salaries for members of the Senate will reduce corruption. With more money in their pockets, senators will avoid scheming lobbyists and foreign influence-seekers. Instead, the Senate will be able to better focus on the needs of Aloria and its people, while also increasing productivity, as senators will want to keep their jobs.

Articles 2 and 3: Aloria remains populated with descendants of our most ancient and revered nobility. These men should be honored by this nation and restored to their rightful titles. Not only should they be restored to their titles, but the people of Aloria should be allowed to strive for nobility. The promise of nobility will encourage not only good behavior and moral quality on the part of the citizenry, but also on behalf of government officials. An honours system allowing for nobility will help reduce corruption and reward good behavior. Those entitled will posses no special political powers other than the right to be styled and addressed a certain way.

Article 4: Registering ones race and religion should be in place for statistical purposes. Learning more about our people will help us better address issues of religion and race.

MessageI could support article 1 and article 7. Others I can't. Strongly support raising that retirement age, let's do it!!!

MessageI find the argument for article 3 rather flawed, considering how much congress members are paid in the U.S. and we a have a high corruption rate, despite in law giving them an automatic pay rise each year.

Plus all the perks.

MessageThe CF supports all of these proposals aside from increasing the retirement age. Our party has a large populist contingent that would not support an increase to retirement age. We suggest this proposal be moved to a seperate bill.

In the past we have proposed giving religious leaders the power to grant nobility titles, but we can also support the proposed law.

MessageOOC: NAP, best to leave real life things out of the game. Congress people don't get paid that much compared to some nations like Singapore, where government pay is extremely high and corruption is low. Congress people in the US often work with lobbyists and companies in order to line their own pockets because they do not make enough.

Mr. Speaker,

We shall create a separate bill and allow for more debate.

Perhaps, as a compromise, titles of nobility could be granted by the government and any other designated institution, including the head of state and religious leaders?

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

The Good Folk™ support all of the aforementioned articles, except for article 6. We would rather prefer an algorithm that gives considerable advantage to smaller regions.

I yield
