A renewal of the; Special Educational Needs Provision Act 2986

Proposer: Romyt Salarin Unionist Leader

Be it enacted upon the Authority of the President and Senate Assembled that the Senate of the Democratic Republic of Solentia;

RECOGNISING that provision for Students with S.E.N is limited,

REALISING that a solid education for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other learning disabilities is essential in the creation of a mobile society,

CONDEMNING that past Senates and Governments have made no provision for support for such pupils,

ACCEPTING that this Act must only be a start,

Does hereby require:

Article 1
a) That the Department of Education assign a junior-level Minister for Special Education, with responsibility for all students with all Special Education Needs
b) That the S.E.N Minister be allocated a percentage of the Education budget at the discretion of the Secretary of State

Article 2
a) That of the allocated funding assigned to S.E.N Education, a percentage is granted to Autism Research
b) That of the allocated funding initially assigned to the Department of Education at the next budget..
i ~ at least 10% must be invested into the creation of state-funded specialist schools designed to cater for students with learning disabilities
ii ~ at least 5% must be invested into the training of staff to cater for students with learning disabilities

Article 3
a) That Charter Schools with a focus and specialism in S.E.N, A.S.D or other learning disabilities be given governmental grants at the discretion of the Secretary of State
b) That Foundation-level courses be available to children with S.E.N between the ages of 16-18 to grant them the opportunity to gain qualification and preparation for the workplace
