Message | Mr. Speaker In future we ask our colleagues from the DSP to allow more time for debate before pushing something for a vote. No in terms of the actual bill we wholeheartedly agree with Articles 1 & 2 to enshrine them in law and protect them. However we believe that Slander and Libel laws are necessary to protect people from lies that could otherwise destroy a person's reputation. Kyle Woodbury Congressional House Minority Leader |

Message | Mr. Woodbury Apologies. I am afraid I was desperate to solidify my party's policy and, in doing so, committed a "faux pas". I will be sure to allow for more debate time in regards to any future legislation the DSP proposes. Again, apologies for the breach of decency. Message | Most Honorable Representatives, My party holds a great reservation against libel and slander laws. A line must be drawn between honest vocal opposition, of which includes protest, and words of malicious intent. It is not our believe that a state court should have the power to do so. Message | Mr. Speaker We agree with the DSP that a line must be drawn and it is with the Courts that these lines are drawn. One persons honest opposition could very well be another mans threat. At the very least there needs to be laws in place to protect a person against both even if we remove the ability to launch a lawsuit over it.
