Bill: Public Education Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alorian Communist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2055
Description[?]:
If we allow rich people to buy their way to a better education, we will never stop the ever-expanding class barrier. Not only do private schools take all the best teachers and staff away from public schooling, they prevent people from different classes mixing which leads to hatred and mistrust. Let us educate all our children in public education, which will provide a better standard of living for all of us. |

Message | No! Private schools take off a huge burden of public schools, and mean some children can get a better education, or a more specialised one. Is it not better to have some getting better education, than all getting worse education? And, of course, there would be no tax breaks for families who do send children to private schools, meaning public schools have more money per pupil. |

Message | Yes but that money would be marginal. Also, public schools take away the best staff meaning public schools have to make do with less. Under this proposal, the best staff can help everybody. |
