Bill: Democratic Investment Program, Part II

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3857

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

Government spending is very weak in Rutania and the government struggles to fund its very few social programs every year because of low funding and a budget that only represents a small fraction of our GDP. We have ensured that this increase in spending will still keep a budget surplus. With this increase the government will be able to better meet its social agenda while giving an increase in spending to the departments that keep Rutania safe.

Mr. Speaker,

This will EXPLODE the government bureaucracy. According to Economics 101, INCREASED government spending "crowds-out" PRIVATE-sector investment. In other words, it may increase GOVERNMENT jobs, but at the EXPENSE of private-sector jobs in the market economy. We thought that the RDP was a Pro-CAPITALIST party???

cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowding_out_(economics)

Thus, we opposed and urge all members of the Parliament to oppose as well. We need to REDUCE the size and scope of the Federal/National Government and NOT increase it.

MessageMr. Speaker,

It would if we were increasing the budget to major standards, but it still only represents 8.49% of our GDP once passed. This is much less then other nations and it will only be able to actually handle the current social programs we have in place. The CWF mentions poverty in judging the cabinet, well this bill will ensure that everyone can recive healthcare and education. Currently our budget represents that of a third world country! That is insane! No wonder employment and poverty is on the rise! The CWF caused this mess!

Dear Madame Prime Minister Eibenschutz:

We believe that the best way to end poverty is NOT through welfare and "FREE" money but when the Government helps a poor family get a good and high-paying Union job to be a part of the American dream.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We have no idea what this "American Dream" is but when the government is only spending 5% of what it makes, not many people are living the "American Dream".
