Bill: International Sovereignty Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Action Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3873

Description[?]:

Kirlawa should focus on it's own interests, and not be concerned with UNT interests which may conflict with Kirlawan interests. Kirlawa has the capability to manage itself without UNT. In fact, the UNT may even hamper Kirlawa in the future. Thus, it is in Kirlawa's best interest to withdraw from UNT.

The voting process will begin on February 3873

This treaty is both nice, and totally harmless. And many of Kirlawa's friends are here too.
If there had been any problems with the treaty, don't you think that they would have shown up sometime over the more than eleven hundred years (!) that we've been a member of it?

It doesn't even restrict any legislative articles.

To callously throw all of this away, merely on the vague allegation that problems could arise -- when the evidence has shown that no such problems have arisen throughout all these many years of experience with it -- would be senseless and foolish. And deeply sad. :(

In the _extremely_ unlikely case that some major problem does arise from it in the future, it could be withdrawn from at that time. Doing so pre-emptively is totally unnecessary.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant." - Karl Popper
