Bill: Leave the "Free Trade League"
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conquest Party of Mordusia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3883
Description[?]:
Being a part of this league is of no benefit to our nation. All this treaty does is prevent us from ensuring that our nation can protect itself from unfair trade practices of other nations. When other nations with weaker economies have low labor costs, they have been able to flood our markets with cheap goods. This has forced many good Mordusian companies to lay off workers and cut benefits. Having the power to impose tariffs is an important tool that we can use to protect ourselves economicly. Mordusia needs to be able to combat this problem and protect our fellow countymen from economic harm. |

Message | Policies of protectionism are outdated and do not help the economy, free trade on the other hand encourages competition that boosts implementation of innovations. All together we can say that it is free trade that holds the best benefits for an economy such as Mordusia. Should this proposal be brought up for a vote, we would definitely vote no. |
