Bill: Eminent Domain Establishment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal League

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3882

Description[?]:

Eminent Domain is vital and can prevent life-threatening situations.

Imagine the following scenario:
We need to build a levee to protect an entire community. We've already bought up all of the houses except one. This owner refuses to move and puts the entire community at risk as a result. In such circumstances eminent domain is very important to have.

Note, we do not and would never support the use of eminent domain for private/commercial use or for willy-nilly reasons. Only in vital cases as the one described would it be permissible.
